Lipstick Stain

Cracks of sunlight spread across your bed
As your voice cracked from the lies in your head
Coffee brought some sense
But you’re the greatest mistake
I’ll always make

I’m your harlot, you’re my cancer
You crawled in, crept in
I crave for
The subtlety of your deceit
Like the faint lipstick stain on your sheets

Morning dew disappearing on the streets
Lust held high and love under your feet
The chase brought some life
Because I’m the safest fallback
You’ll never lack

I’m your harlot, you’re my cancer
You choked up, broke down
I hauled you out
The subtlety of your deceit
Like the faint lipstick stain on your sheets

Clouded by the smoke of your cigarette
We made a promise to always forget
The secret brought some chills
Because yours is the coldest touch
I want to have as much

I’m your harlot, you’re my cancer
We caved in, fell out
We let us die
The subtlety of your deceit
Like the faint lipstick stain on your sheets

05-06 MAY 2012: Surfer Dude, Hang Loose

Photos from our La Union weekend getaway! Taken using a lousy digital camera. I seriously thought it was gonna rain that weekend so I didn’t risk bringing my DSLR (screw you, inaccurate weather forecasts).

Anyway, after a grueling, butt-numbing eight-hour road trip, we finally set our feet up north!

On a tricycle, en route to Sebay Surf Central

Mel and Anne

Gene and Jae, with (unintentionally) matching shirts.

Krish and I

Lomography in La Union!

We went out skimboarding during this time of the day but I don’t have any photos of that activity.

Beer by the beach at night.

Ready to ride with the waves!

But one spontaneous shot before that~

Listen up, kids! So here’s Jeff, giving us the lowdown on surfing.

Gotta try it out on the sand before the sea!

Krish, going at it! Skater girl getting stoked on the longboard!

The unfortunate part of this is I don’t have a single photo of me actually riding the board. I’m usually the photographer when I go out on a trip with a group of people and since I was in the water this time, well, you get the idea. /wrist

Here’s a photo of me and Jeff, after the surf session. Our outfits kinda match!

Back at the resort, we went looking for Luke Landrigan because that was about half of the reason we went surfing in the first place. Okay, I kid. I didn’t even know who he was until only recently, but my friends were dying to see him. Much to our disappointment, he wasn’t in La Union that weekend. We were informed that he was at Siargao, well, surfing, of course. We only got to take a photo of his dog, River, up there with Mel.

Last beach photo before we head home.

Well, here’s another one ticked off my non-existent bucket list! Surfing and skimboarding are a must-try for everyone who seeks the thrill of water sports. I may have had a few battle scars (scratches and bruises on my knees, heh) after the trip but those won’t stop me from going for a second round!

Before Work Starts Again

The extra long weekend was pretty much booked for me. All five days were filled with activities yet, ironically, I have only a few pictures to share. And, all in low quality at that. So, I’d like to apologize for the bad quality photos that are about to grace your eyes from here on. *Someone please reprimand me for being too lazy to bring my camera, ugh.

Anyway, a rundown: I spent my Thursday at Fatima’s house with Maureen. Cassxie was supposed to be with us and we would’ve been complete but she had to go to Laguna for some reason. We did a lot of catching up over cake and pizza, which I failed to take a photo of because they just magically jumped into our mouth and got digested almost instantly.

Friday was cheesecake day with my brothers at our condo. The cake was a bit burnt actually, but ‘twas alright.

On Saturday, my family went to Bulacan for an overnight trip. The next day, after checking out, we went to Pampanga for lunch. It’s always like having a feast when we visit that place—there’s so much good food! I got to see my relatives again from my Dad’s side. God, how long has it been? Of course, I’ve been bombarded with comments on how big/old I am now, but who could blame them? It’s been ages! I barely recognize some of them anymore.

When we got back to Manila on Sunday evening, I went to Promenade with my cousin, Cai, to watch one of our most-awaited movies for this year: Titanic 3D! Hahaha. Yeah, yeah I know. We just have a soft spot for that film, okay? And who could resist Jack Dawson? We’ve seen the movie so many times in the past yet we shamelessly cried in the cinema. That was emotionally draining, mind you.

Aaaaand, a huge facepalm for me for having only one picture from those two days! Xocolat Chicken Pasta. Food… again. What does that say about me? Haha!

Moving on to this day: My college friends and I went to Taft to hang out at Jed’s condo! It’s always a good feeling to go back to that familiar stretch of the avenue—it’s almost like home to me even though I’ve spent only a few years there. *cue nostalgic music*

Cafe Noriter with Kai and Jed!

Chocolate Waffle, Honey Bread and Strawberry Smoothies! Yummy~

Back at One Oasis. The boys were too busy talking about NBA and PSVita that we had to cut their conversation and let them take a picture of us.

The five of us trying to fit in the frame. Too dark, but I guess this will do!

I’m pretty sure we’ll have more tambay’s at this place. I missed everyone!

I’m reminded of how difficult it was to work on a schedule that does not follow Philippine holidays in the past two years. It sure feels great to be able to have the same days off with my family and friends now!

04 MARCH 2012: Ken & Ice

I first met Ice in September of last year for a simple photoshoot she was kind enough to model in for me. My friend, Jpee, suggested that her when I was looking for a model for my portraits at that time. Little did I know that the next time I’d be seeing her again would be at her wedding! I was surprised she invited me, given that we’ve spent only a few hours together and we barely talked after that day in September. She told Jpee that I could take photos during the ceremony so I could further practice photography. What a sweet and thoughtful lady!

The wedding was held at Manila Cathedral in Intramuros.

We were still waiting by the church entrance since there was another wedding being held prior to Ice’s. When she came out of the car, everyone was stunned by her beauty! I sort of panicked because I hadn’t adjusted my camera’s settings yet but I’m glad I managed to take a decent photo of her in natural lighting. It took us a few moments before realizing that she was about to walk down the aisle and we were still outside!

We hurried inside and settled in.

The music for the wedding march was 214 by Rivermaya! I personally loved that part because that song is one of my all-time favorites.

Ice and her parents; Ken at the altar, in happy tears. Aww~

I somehow managed to take advantage of the professional photographer’s flash. Isn’t it just beautiful, how her veil cascades down her bouquet of lilies?

Stained glass. And another one below.

The kiss!

The happy couple <3

The reception was held at La Castellana, which was just behind the church.

The motif was midnight blue and yellow for summer.

Table 21

We weren’t able to take pictures of our food because we were so hungry already that we finished everything up before even realizing there wasn’t a single photo. Haha~

The couple, with messages to their parents… and the pretty cupcake tower, of course.

They gave out my favorite, Cupcakes by Sonja! The frosting was custom made to match the midnight blue theme of the wedding. I had to brush my teeth thrice to get the stain off my mouth! The Vanilla Sunshine cupcake was still superb so no complaints there. Good thing I ate the cupcake at home, though.

And with cupcakes on my mind, I end this post. Congratulations, Ken and Ice! May your love grow more and more each day!
